Dr Andrzej Krol, MD, DEAA, FRCA, FFPMRCA: Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Management at St George’s Hospital in London. He graduated from Medical School at Warsaw University (MD) in 1991. He completed Anaesthesia and Intensive Care speciality training in 1998. He has become Diplomate of European Academy of Anesthesiology (DEAA) in 2000. Simultaneously he has been trained in Palliative Medicine and set up Palliative , Hospice and Chronic Pain Service in the region. Regional Advisor in Palliative Medicine 2000- 2004. He continued his training in the UK and has been appointed as a Consultant at St George’s Hospital in London in 2005.
He has been actively involved in development of regional anaesthesia service being Regional Anaesthesia Lead in the Department for the last 5 years. He has been organizing regular Regional Anaesthesia Course in collaboration with Anatomy Department SGUL (St George’s University of London) and has been co-director of Regional Anaesthesia Module.
He has been founding member of London Society of Regional Anaesthesia (LSORA), London Pain Forum and Section of Intervention and Neuromodulation of Polish Pain Society. He has been serving his term as a Chairman of the Section until 2016.
He has organized , chaired , taught and lectured at national and international meetings workshops and published extensively. His most recent research has been focused on safety of both peripheral nerve blocks as well as spinal chronic pain injections and the role of injection pressure monitoring. Ultrasound guided radiofrequency procedures have become common practice and area of interest and investigation. Amongst many other meetings he has been a co-chairman and organizer of RA-UK Ultrasound in Pain Medicine course in London bringing a new perspective to the field of interventional pain medicine.
