Dr Ismaël Atchia MD, FRCP- biography Ismaël Atchia is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Northumbria-Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Associate Clinical Lecturer at Newcastle University. He completed his MD on ultrasound guided injection in hip osteoarthritis. He was recipient of the Young Investigator Award by Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) in 2008 and the Young Investigator Award by the BSR in 2009. He is the BSR SIG group Lead for the Northern Region. His current interest is in interventional ultrasound and in teaching MSK ultrasound. He has been part for the faculty for BSR courses for a number of years and was convenor of the BSR basic Ultrasound Course in 2013.
