Dr Silver has been a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at The Nuffield Hospital Exeter and The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust for 17yrs.
He is also an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at The Peninsula Medical School. Dr Silver’s has developed a comprehensive musculoskeletal imaging and interventional service and has experience in diagnostic musculoskeletal imaging and sports injury. He undertakes interventional procedures including image guided biopsy, spinal intervention, and joint injections. Dr Silver also undertakes shockwave therapy for refractory tendinopathy including plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinopathy having established one of the first services in the UK over 13 years ago.
Dr Silver is currently Clinical Lead for Musculoskeletal Imaging and Sarcoma. He is a Specialist Adviser to NICE Interventional Advisory Committee and was an adviser to LOCOG 2012 Olympic Medical Committee. He has served as an Executive Officer and Secretary of the British Society of Skeletal Radiology.
Dr Silver has worked in close collaboration with Pain Management Specialists and has helped train anaesthetists in basic ultrasound techniques for a number of years and has been involved in a number of regional, National and European pain management courses teaching musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging and interventional techniques.
