He started his University career in 1986 in Innsbruck and has done Ultrasonography ever since. Some of Prof. Moriggl's former scholars are practically concerned with ultrasonography. He often serves as Mentor and senior author to them. Prof. Moriggl has had Clinical Training, especially in Diagnostic Imaging. In 2008 he has become one of the Founding Fathers of a Special Interest Group (SIG) for Ultrasound in Pain Medicine (USPM) within the ASRA and is now its Educational Director. He is Author within the Atlas of Ultrasound-Guided Procedures in Interventional Pain Management. The second edition will be released in spring 2015 Prof. Moriggl has plenty of international cooperation both practically and scientifically. Most recent examples are co-development and support of the WAPMU (World Academy of Pain Medicine Ultrasonography) and joining the Denmark-people around Jens Børglum and Thomas Fichtner Bendtsen from Copenhagen. Prof Moriggl published over 70 papers in peer reviewed Journals and numerous letters. This April he finished an iBook on US-guided pain management procedures in cooperation with Vincent Chan and Bhatia Anuj from Toronto.
