Dr. T. Bendtsen



Thomas Fichtner Bendtsen (TFB) won the gold medal of Aarhus University in 1988, obtained the medical degree in 1990 and the PhD degree in 1999, and became specialist of anesthesiology and intensive care in 2003.

TFB is author and co-author of several research publications and book chapters. TFB has been invited lecturer more than 60 times worldwide, mainly about ultrasound guided regional anesthesia He has been invited speaker for the last five years at the Annual Congress of the European Society of Regional Analgesia (ESRA) in Porto, Dresden, Bordeaux, Glasgow and Seville. He is referee for several scientific journals. TFB leads a research team of PhD fellows focusing on ultrasound guided regional anesthesia (UGRA) of the lumbo-sacral plexus, lower limb (hip, knee and ankle/foot), trunk blocks and pelvic floor analgesia. TFB is running a research focusing on exploring the efficacy and safety of real-time ultrasound/MRI image fusion for lumbo-sacral plexus blocks.
